Currently studying for a master’s degree in London, she lives with two friends in a three-bedroom apartment in Stratford, paying just under £400 per week (around £1,900 per month). As a student at UCL East, location was a key factor when choosing where to live. From Stratford, her commute is under 20 minutes, making daily travel both convenient and cost-efficient.
However, finding the right place wasn’t easy. “We actually spent quite a long time searching,” she explains. “Because there were three of us, it was difficult to find something that matched our budget, location, and overall quality at the same time. Older flats didn’t feel ideal, but newer ones were often over budget.” After viewing multiple options, they eventually secured their current home, a well-balanced space that meets both practical and lifestyle needs.
One of her favourite areas is the living room, which offers great natural light and enough space for them to eat, relax, and spend time together. The open-plan kitchen makes cooking easy and convenient, something they do regularly, while the three separate bedrooms provide enough privacy for each person, especially important given their different schedules.
The building itself also offers a secure entry system, adding an extra layer of safety. Reflecting on the process, she mentions that they initially searched on their own but struggled to find suitable options, before turning to Homeme for support. “They helped us filter through properties that actually matched what we needed, which saved a lot of time,” she says.
From arranging viewings to communicating with the building and assisting with the move-in process, the team provided end-to-end support that made everything much smoother. As newcomers to London, having help with things like bills management and local processes also gave them added peace of mind. Beyond the apartment, Stratford offers a vibrant and convenient living environment, with nearby supermarkets, Asian grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping areas all within easy reach.
Overall, she feels the experience has been very positive: “For London, I think the value for money is quite good. And if you’re sharing with friends, this kind of layout works really well.”
